BLK JKS

Lukewarm response to their first album from Pitchfork. Astute comment at the end about muddled messages and comparisons with District 9...

I'm still an unbeliever. I can appreciate that they're doing something interesting, but it's not something i enjoy listening to. If they can get over their music school pretences and gain a punk sensibility, it would help them a lot.

But if you want to hear more, there was a session of theirs on daytrotter recently which you can upload.

Nah, I'm with you. I'd like to hear the album out of interest, but not convinced yet...

They're interview with Lloyd was quite revealing. The bassist, I think, said that in the end it doesn't really matter what's on the album, only that the album exists at all. Such hubris! The ONLY thing that matters is what's on the fokkin album dudes! No-one cares that it exists if it's got kak on it.
