No more floor crossing

We hope

At least there are bills about it now. Wonder why the ANC wants to repeal the law now? Has served them rather handsomely these past 5 years.

Will this stop the DA being able to make a coallition in the Western Cape?

national legislature floor crossing wouldn't help them take the western cape. i don't know if floor crossing was ever a big deal in provincial legislatures. it's a good question. but come one, a governing coalition involving the DA would never work...

Didn't mean about the floor crossing, but rather the mention in that article that coalitions will no longer be allowed. I can't pretend to know the least bit about provincial politics, but I just remember reading - in the context of the ANC losing popularity and some regional districts - that the DA may be able to take the Western Cape now that Zille has changed the DA stance to a willingness to make a coalition.

didn't see that bit? don't see how you can outlaw cooperation between separate parties tho. anyway one to watch for sure...
